Vestry Highlights

Your vestry met on November 9, 2009.

The Properties Commission continues to work hard. We had some damage from leaky gutters and downspouts, and Jim Witt is seeking bids to replace them. Replastering has been completed in the auditorium and during the Christmas break, the auditorium, the stage, and upstairs kitchen will be painted by Himes Painting Co. The small meeting room and the tent room will be repainted by staff and volunteers.

The outside door by the elevator, used by Red Door Café guests, has been unusable for over a year. It will be replaced with an insulated fiberglass door.

Two trees which were too close to the Parish House had to be removed. Their roots were threatening the structural integrity of the building and their leaves were clogging the gutters. In their place, Kevin Elliott has donated a Japanese maple tree and Jim and Martie Witt have donated three burning bush shrubs. We appreciate their thoughtfulness and thank them for these beautiful gifts.

News of the stewardship campaign and the search appears elsewhere in the December 2009 issue of The Good News.
