The Reverend John Horner, Rector
Welcome to St. John's Church! We are a downtown church for all people. We've been a vital part of Youngstown for over 100 years.
We invite you to attend one of our Sunday services (8 and 10:30 am). You will find St. John's a place of joyous worship. The early (8 o'clock) Service of Holy Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday without music. The 10:30 Service of Holy Eucharist enjoys a full choir and opening and closing procession.
When you visit, please fill out a "St. John's Welcomes You" envelope (in the pew rack) and drop it in the offering plate or leave it at the door with one of our parishioners. If you come to our early service, stay afterward and join us for Adult Forum at 9:15 in the Parlor (on the first floor of our Parish House), or if you come to our later service, stay for coffee hour. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself and ask questions.
We believe you may find a fulfilling role in serving the Lord at St. John's in our outreach, youth, and music ministries. Our members are involved in many ways lending life and health to the Mahoning Valley.
If you are looking for a church home, be sure to look at us! For more information, call the church office at 330-743-3175 or fax us at 330-743-3176. Our e-mail address is stjohn@cboss.com.
The Reverend Jeremiah Williamson, Curate
There are many reasons people feel at home in the Episcopal Church. For
some, the beauty and timelessness of the liturgy is irresistible. Others
are seeking a place where reason is valued. Some enjoy the gorgeous music
and stunning worship space. Some folks are just looking for a faithful
community that will accept them as they are.
I invite you to come and experience St. John's Episcopal Church. There is
something very special about worshipping and journeying and being with the
people who make up St. John's - something that cannot adequately be put into
words.
St. John's is a community that strives to live out Jesus' message of love
and justice in this world. We believe Jesus was concerned with the poor and
the struggling; we too are concerned with the ones whom society has
forgotten or intentionally excluded. We are a people who continually ask
ourselves, "How can we best be the Body of Christ in our world, nation, and
community?"
Come and worship with us. I am confident you will feel that you are among
friends, among family. Seeking and serving Christ in all persons is a
grandiose mission; we invite you to join us. St. John's Episcopal Church
welcomes you.
