December 2009
Advent is here, meaning preparation for Christmas. We too are preparing a large giveaway in December to the wonderful people that visit St. John's Pantry for sustenance. With your help again, St. John's can achieve one of its goals: to feed the hungry.
Our helpers (elves) are looking for a big turnout December 19th, so please keep the Food Pantry in mind on your next shopping trip. We need to restock our pantry with cereal, pork and beans, jelly, peanut butter, canned stews, soup and spaghetti sauce.
Thanks for your generosity and have a Blessed Christmas.

Now it's time for us to renew our commitment to bring food on Sundays. The Pantry especially needs peanut butter, jams or jellies, fruit. Whatever you wish to donate will help. Harvest time is here according to the farmers, so please bring something to help harvest for the Food Pantry.
Thanks.

Summer is gone and Fall is here, as are our regular Pantry volunteers, active in the cause of helping others by working at St. John's Saturday giveaway of food. Thanks so much to Sally Oberman, Gary Kirkland, Mary Chisholm, Ed Ensley, Steve and Liz Johnson, Allen DeMarks, Bob Wallace, Tracy Prizant, Liz Wrona, Jim Witt, Matt and Brenda Barry, and Kate Huff. With this cast of wonderful volunteers, the program is running great. Of course, and very important, is the support of you, our congregation, who have donated food and money over these past months. Thanks to all, and may God bless you.

Summer is over, and it's back to school for some; but others are looking for food. The Red Door Food Pantry was busy helping those in need. Our average giveaway for three months was 38. Food was purchased from Second Harvest Food Bank twice to help keep our shelves stocked.
