The mission of Episcopal Community Services (ECS) in the Diocese of Ohio is to promote a reconciling Episcopal witness that encourages justice through service, compassion, and liberation; empowering both those being served, and those who serve others. The Foundation promotes and facilitates this work by raising funds for diocesan, parish, ecumenical and community ministries that have Episcopal involvement.

Historically, Episcopal Community Services has conducted an annual appeal asking gifts from Episcopalians of the Diocese. Income derived from this annual appeal, supported with additional foundation and endowment dollars, is distributed to ministries that respond to human needs such as hunger, homelessness, after school programs, health services, aging, unemployment, and counseling services. There is power in working together.
