THE EPISCOPAL COMMUNITY SERVICES HISTORY

The Episcopal Community Services Foundation was instituted by action of the Annual Convention of the Diocese of Ohio in 1990. The next year was a time of organizing and raising the initial funds for operating purposes. The first annual campaign was initiated during the fall of 1992. The George Gund Foundation, a long-time partner with the diocese in addressing human need, made a three-year start up grant of $90,000 to assist with administrative costs. Subsequently, the George Gund Foundation made a three-year grant of $52,000 for operational expenses.
