Dear Friends,
As we move through the calendar year 2008, 1 want to tell you about some of the exciting ministries going forward in the life of the diocese.
- 23 Episcopal congregations are providing essential services to the needy in local communities through financial grant support from Episcopal Community Services responding to basic needs for food, clothing, emergency and transitional housing, health care, and educational support.
- Another 25 community agencies, assisted by Episcopalians, are providing additional support for human services - in each case with help from ECSF.
- Congregations are putting the final touches on youth mission trips for this summer that will send young people to locales across the country for service, learning, and ministry.
- Two post-ordination internships have been made possible for graduated seminarians moving into ordained ministries - providing fresh leadership to the congregations and new learning experiences to the ordinands.
- Campus ministries in several of our parish communities across the diocese are being re-established and strengthened. [more...]
