Since the Point’s inception in 1992, St. John's has been active in this organization through direct support and administration of the program itself. Located right across the street from our church on Wick Avenue, the Greater Youngstown Point’s onsite services include:

• A homeless drop-in center and emergency shelter
• Shower and laundry facilities for the “street homeless”
• Emergency food distribution
• Re-entry programs for ex-offenders
• Permanent housing placement (memorandums of understanding with local landlords)
• Counseling to resolve other barriers to housing such as outstanding debt
• Job counseling and placement (networking with One Stop and with employers)
• Financial literacy counseling
• Mainstream resources assistance (SSI, SSDI, TANF, Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans, etc.)
• Assistance securing clothing, furniture, and other basic needs
• Referrals to other community resources
• Follow-up case management to stabilize families that secure permanent housing
