Psalms 45, 47, 48 | Genesis 37:12-24 | 1 Corinthians 1:20-31 | Mark 1:14-28
When Jesus had departed for Galilee after his baptism, He began his ministry. As He walked by the Sea of Galilee He gathered Simon, Andrew, James and John and asked them to follow him. In Capernaum at a synagogue they were astonished by his teachings. And when a man with an unclean spirit called out to Jesus “Let us alone....” Jesus rebuked him and drove the unclean spirit out, Jesus' fame grew. He had come to fulfill the prophecies, to let the people know the Kingdom of God was near and that it was time to repent and believe in the Gospel. Jesus lived among the people then and experienced being human and all of its difficulties. And He could have given up on us but He steadfastly loved us and taught to love God above all else. “Lord be merciful to me, a sinner.”
