Psalms 37:1-18, 37:19-42 | Habakkuk 3:1-18 | Philippians 3:12-21 | John 17:1-8
Simply put, Paul is telling us he was not now, nor was he ever a perfect person. He is trying to do his best to achieve the goal of everlasting life in Jesus Christ. We too have our trials and tribulations in this life, but again one must try to overcome these temptations and follow the righteous path. For some this is it; live now, enjoy all the richness possible. Who cares, or even thinks of a hereafter. Lent is a time to reflect both on our past and, most importantly, on what we set as our goals for the future. Our goals should be with the love of Christ and the faith to achieve them. As stated in verse 20, our citizenship is in heaven.
